Summer, matching her pace with Morgan, walked into Starbucks. The smell of coffee hit her immediately upon walking into the store. The store had the usual hustle and bustle of students, soft chatter, and giggling. Summer quickly smoothed down her blonde ponytail in case it was getting frizzy. She got on line and pulled her wallet out of her backpack. I think I'll get a pumpkin latte, she decided.

Morgan walked with ease next to Summer, a happy smile on his face. So far it had been a good day and he didn't mind the cooling weather. What he did miss was rain, seeing that he had become so used to seeing it every day, that now that there wasn't any, he was actually missing it. The States was a culture shock, but it had been a pleasant one none the less. He had also joined the masses of students that had to work for a living, but he had promised his father to get a job as soon as he had settled in, meaning that his father still sent a monthly allowance for him to get by, but Morgan knew his father figure was just doing so under the insistence of his mother.
Walking into the Starbucks, he inhaled the scent of coffee, instantly craving a caffeine fix. He noticed that Summer had pulled out her wallet, and he had his own out for a while now. I invited you, so it's on me, he said with an easy smile. They stood in the line, Morgan already knowing his order. Decaf latte with soy milk and hazlenut syrup. Once they reached the front, he waited for Summer to order before he did his own.

"Oh - thank you!" Summer said, trying not to blush as she scrambled to put away her wallet. "I'll have a small pumpkin latte, please," she said, trying to get herself collected. The cashier handed the two their drinks. Summer carefully picked hers up, suddenly becoming paranoid that she would drop her drink. That would be totally embarrassing. But Summer kept her cool on the outside; she acted confident. "Where do you want to sit?" Summer asked, looking at Morgan with her clear blue eyes.
